Alex Johnson

Chief Legal officer

Alex Johnson joined Murphy in 2024 as Chief Legal Officer. Formerly, Alex was a partner at the law firm of DeWitt LLP, based in their Minneapolis office. He specializes in transportation and logistics law, having represented motor carriers and other companies within the industry in years past.

Alex focuses on transactional work, providing legal guidance on business matters such as mergers and acquisitions, real estate purchases, land use, and zoning issues. He brings a strong background in civil litigation, which gives him a unique perspective in his transactional work, allowing him to anticipate and address potential legal risks.

Alex earned his J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Iowa. He is an active member of both the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
