Emergency Responsiveness – Case Study

Emergency Responsiveness

During one August week a few years ago, Minnesota was experiencing an unexpected and prolonged heat wave. At the time, a large local grocery retailer was storing its entire regional Halloween candy supply with Murphy in a non-refrigerated, seasonal-needs warehouse. Murphy was notified that if the temperature in the warehouse continued to rise, all of the inventory in the warehouse would melt, and be deemed unfit for consumption.

Murphy warehouse team pulled together an experienced team and found the resources to create temporary air conditioning units using generators, flatbed trucks and custom piping to cool down the 50,000 square foot room. Although none of this was planned for or outlined in the contract, we went above and beyond for our client to keep their product safe.
